We find that there is a great deal of confusion with Cirrus owners in the areas that are covered by the various warranties. Here on these pages, we not only offer downloads of the various warranty documents with important parts highlighted, but try to distill some of them down into plain and simple terms for your clarification. None of this explaination is intended to replace the official warranty documents, but instead is here to help clairify things we find ourselves explaining often to Cirrus owners.
Every Cirrus comes with a (2) two year, parts and labor warranty. Cirrus offers an extended (3) three year warranty, for an addition fee, and the SR22's have the Teledyne Continental "Platinum Engine Warranty."
To make things even a little more complex, the Turbo 22's with the Tornado Ally turbo system, have their engines warranted by Cirrus, NOT Teledyne Continental. The new Cirrus SR22T with the Continental IO-550K engine has it's own unique warranty program.
Platinum Aviation Service, like other Cirrus factory authorized service centers, must work within these warranty program guidelines. We do not set the guidelines, we only follow those laid out by Cirrus Aircraft. In some unique cases these policies be modified and warranty coverage granted although technically a part or service was not covered. However, those cases are determined by Cirrus Aircraft, not Platinum Aviation Service and special circumstances must exist to be considered.
