Richard Bertoli
Director of Flight Operations - AirShares Elite
For the last 6 years, I have actively managed a nation-wide fleet of Cirrus aircraft, which gives me a somewhat rare perspective on the many different service centers distributed across the country. I can say without hesitation that Platinum Aviation Service ranks among the very best in the business. The communication is excellent and the quality of customer service is top notch. Glenn Juber has demonstrated a particular expertise in quickly trouble shooting difficult problems that have baffled other shops in the past. I have tremendous confidence in his ability to efficiently and effectively maintain our airplanes to the highest level of safety and service.

Cirrus service and beyond, engine, airframe and avionics!!! Platinum knows what "service" means. Knowledge, timeliness and quality are tops. I've been in many shops since my flying career started in 1962, and service at Platinum is absolutely superb.

Piper Saratoga Owner
Like most aircraft owners, I have had my annual inspection performed by a variety of shops over the years. Finding the perfect value, a balance between competitive price and exceptional work, is often difficult. I have experienced everything from low cost terrible quality control to high cost poor service and almost everything in between. Fortunately, about nine years ago, I found the perfect blend of excellence in service at a reasonable cost. Glenn Juber, Director of Maintenance for Platinum Aviation, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida not only kept my Warrior and Saratoga in pristine condition for nearly a decade, he instructed me through my commercial, instrument, CFI, and CFII ratings. I have never met a more competent aviation professional than Mr. Juber.
To say that one must trust completely in one's aviation mechanic is a gross understatement. When I found out the Glenn had accepted a position that would move his family from Massachusetts to southern Florida, I was devastated. I knew I had to immediately begin searching for a competent A&P/IA. I started looking, but as annual quickly approached, I had not found anyone who I felt comfortable entrusting my aircraft to. With only two months to go until my aircraft would be out of annual, I scheduled the inspection with a local shop. My anxiety began to grow, until my wife and I decided to take the kids on a vacation to Orlando and I was able to coordinate with Glenn at Platinum to get the inspection scheduled. My absolute trust In Glenn, as many a pilot can attest, is the most important aspect of my decision to stick with him to supervise the servicing of my aircraft.
This was the first time I had ever even heard of a "vacation annual," and I didn't know exactly how it would turn out. I have to say that it was the best decision I could have made. With Glenn leading the maintenance department at Platinum, the inspection was even more thorough and the price was better than before! Specifically, I had always been involved in my annual inspections in order to learn as much as I could about my aircraft while saving some money. I was amazed that the annual this year, with more discrepancies than last and no discount for the owner-assisted work, actually cost less!
Of course it would not have made sense to spend the money flying all the way to Florida just for the annual. However, coupling a vacation and the inspection made a great deal of sense and actually saved me money compared to the annual inspection I would have performed up north. It also provided a great opportunity for a long cross country and time building. Platinum was incredibly flexible with their scheduling and made my first "vacation annual" a great success. I would recommend a vacation annual with Glenn and Platinum and plan to do it again next year!
