Typically, the insurance underwriter sets aircraft rental minimums. Platinum Aviation’s insurance imposes no such restrictions due to our great deal of experience teaching in Cirrus Aircraft coupled with our outstanding safety record. Our insurance policy simply gives our Director of Training, the authority to determine who can be signed off to fly our aircraft.
This has great benefits to those wanting to learn how to fly and fly the high performance Cirrus SR22. Here at Platinum, you can learn to fly from zero time in any of our SR22’s or 22 Turbos and once you have your private pilot certificate, go on to rent them without having to build time flying less capable aircraft.
Below are our basic rental requirements for those that earned their pilot certificate elsewhere.
Student or Private Pilot Certificate

Aircraft that are equipped with the Cirrus Garmin Perspective Avionics systems will require pilots to complete an avionics transition course and ability to show proficiency for VFR or IFR flight, to the satisfaction of a Platinum Instructor.
Student pilots can train towards their Private Pilot Certificate in any of Platinum Aviation's Cirrus aircraft. The minimum flight time for solo flight is at the sole discretion of Platinum Aviation's Chief Pilots as per their required "stage check" evaluation.
Those pilots that do not meet Platinum Aviation's basic rental requirements, but that do have significant and applicable other experience can inquire with the office or email us at training@flyplatinum.com as to that experience counting toward the basic requirement. Rental requests by pilots not meeting the basic requirements will be reviewed and evaluated on a case by case basis by the Director of Training.
