New Aircraft

The option of purchasing a new aircraft is a great solution if it fits your budget. There are many advantages to purchasing new aside from the obvious. A new aircraft's warranty is a great reason to buy new. Cirrus is currently offering a 5 year "spinner to tail" warranty as a purchase option. This eliminates any surprises that could come your way with unexpected repair costs. The standard warranty is a two year warranty. We have the details of the Cirrus warranty programs outlined here on our website.

There are a great many tax advantages associated with aircraft ownership. The tax advantages are usually the greatest when purchasing new aircraft. You should consult a tax accountant that specializes in the aviation field. We often find that most accountants are not aware of the aviation specific tax regulations. We can help guide you and recommend tax professionals that work in this area.

Used Aircraft

Like cars, aircraft loose a significant amount of their value as soon as you take delivery. While some like the pride of new ownership, others prefer the lower prices in the used market. There are many sources to find good used aircraft. Platinum's own sales division is one place to start or some of the many internet based used aircraft sites.

If you are new to the aircraft market, you really need to have someone with knowledge about aircraft purchasing to help you. Platinum can do that. There are many pitfalls when considering the purchase of a used aircraft that can easily be avoided if you know what to look for. A comprehensive pre-buy inspection of the aircraft is very important to reveal any hidden problems with the aircraft itself or it's history as represented in the aircraft logbooks.

When considering a used Cirrus aircraft you will need to have all of the information regarding all of the versions that Cirrus has produced over the years before making your decision. The first Cirrus aircraft were delivered in 1999. Since then the company has been very aggressive, making many improvements along the way from the original G1 aircraft, the G2 models beginning in 2004 and the G3 versions that began to be released in 2007. There are major differences in these models with great improvements with each generation. There have been three basic avionics configurations along the way. Early models had standard instrumentation with a multi function display, latter models were equipped with full glass panel Avidyne systems. Today's models utilize the Garmin Perspective system, the most advanced avionics system ever seen in a small aircraft, with capabilities exceeding those found in many airliners.

Here at Platinum, we are all Cirrus experts and can guide you through this maze and help you make the right choice for you.

Aircraft Partnerships

Many people opt to buy an aircraft with a partner. This can be good if you find the right partner, but it can be difficult to find the right partner especially if you are new to aviation. Platinum offers the Platinum Partners™ program where we handle all of the details of the aircraft and the need for interaction with the partner is limited.

Leaseback Options

Maybe you are thinking that you won't use the plane enough to justify the cost. Some people choose to lease their aircraft to a facility like Platinum. This option allows you to have full access to the plane, but have others rent it when you are not using it, and thus offset some of your costs or maybe even turn a profit. In this arrangement, Platinum takes care of everything and all you do is show up to fly. Each month you will receive a statement fully detailing all income and expenses.

Aircraft leasebacks are a good way to take advantage of tax incentives even if you don't think you will fly the plane enough to justify owning one.

Aircraft Management

Some people feel they are too busy or simply don't know enough about taking care of a plane that they choose to have us manage their aircraft. Platinum can handle everything for you, from keeping up with and scheduling aircraft maintenance, to updating aircraft databases to scheduling cleaning and detailing of the plane. We can assist you with every aspect of aircraft ownership.
