Airline Transport Pilot Course

Earn Your ATP Certificate and Become a True Professional Pilot

1500 Hours total flight time is required to apply for the Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, also known as the ATP. You do not need a flight instructor endorsement in order to take the FAA practical test for this certificate. Also, there is no requirement for specific instruction to be received for this FAA pilot certificate. Some people do wish to have help and instruction prior to taking the FAA knowledge (written) test or the practical test. Platinum Aviation Training can help you easily pass this challenging flight test. The only time instruction is needed, or an endorsement required by a certificated flight instructor is when you have previously failed the practical exam for this rating.

You can apply for and receive the ATP Airplane Single Engine Land or the ATP Airplane Multi-Engine Land Certificate. In the past, almost no one acquired the ATP Single Engine Certificate since most ATP applicants were destined for the airlines or commercial jet operations. Today turbine, single engine aircraft like the Pilatus PC-12, the Socata TBM 750/850 and the Cessna Caravan 208 as well as the soon to be delivered single engine jets like the Cirrus Vision, Piper Jet and the Diamond D-Jet make getting both FAA Certificates a useful option.

The ATP practical test oral exam is purely aircraft systems oriented. You must understand and be able to describe all of the aircraft systems in detail to the Designated Pilot Examiner. The ATP Certificate is often referred to as the PHD of the FAA Certificates and your intimate knowledge of the aircraft must reflect this. The flight exam is designed to test you to true professional standards. Instrument procedures must be flown to exacting standards. If you are a higher time, experienced commercial pilot with a good deal of real world flying, or a capable and experienced flight instructor, you should have little trouble with this FAA flight test. Pilots wishing to advance to this level that have flown less often or have less highly developed skills may do best with a bit of flight instruction and ground review before the practical flight test.

Most of Platinum Aviation’s flight instructors are ATP qualified and have a great deal of real world flight experience to share with their students. Ace the ATP! all us today at 954.202.5995 or email us to talk to one of our highly qualified flight instructors today.
